    In addition to the development of high-efficiency, eco-friendly materials for thermal power plants such as turbine rotors for ultra-supercritical thermal plants and gas turbine discs, our R&D activities on high-quality, high-performance materials to support the country’s key industries extend to the development of very large materials that can improve the safety and capacity of next-generation nuclear plants as well as low-temperature castings and forgings for Arctic and deepwater offshore plants.

    Material Development for Next-Generation Power Generation

    Outstanding manufacturing quality is needed to satisfy increasing market demand for high-efficiency, eco-friendliness and stability in power generation. Our Castings & Forgings R&D team focuses on the development of key casting and forging products, including materials for ultra-supercritical thermal power plants, materials for next-generation Korean style nuclear plants, and materials for gas turbines.

    Material Development for Offshore Plants

    With the growth of the offshore plant market triggered by the depletion of land resources and increasing oil prices, demand for localized equipment and materials for offshore plants, particularly large-sized materials that can withstand extreme conditions, is also increasing due to the expansion of Arctic and deepwater oil exploration. In step with these market needs, we develop casting and forging materials with high resistance and high strength in low temperatures for offshore plants.
