I start working for Doosan in June 2012. I have always wanted to work in the energy industry. DHI EPC gives me the opportunity to be a part of every stage, from the design and construction to the commissioning, of a thermal power plant in the Middle East. This is a fast growing industry for Korea. The Middle East and fast developing countries of Southeast Asia are becoming important clients in the areas of power generation and water desalination. Doosan is becoming recognized as a major player in these markets. Through successful completion of various EPC projects, Doosan is demonstrating its manufacturing and construction prowess. It’s this kind of work that led to Korea’s speedy transition to a fully industrialized country since the 1980s.
The personal choice for me to work in Korea started when I came here to complete an MBA in 2007. With the looming global financial crisis at that time, prospects for new graduates were slim at best. Korea was rather shielded from the crisis compared to Europe and North America. It was also fast in recovering from the 1997 Asian crisis. These were a few reasons that made it sensible to stay and try my luck here.
For me, Doosan is a dynamic, fast growing, entrepreneurial company. Doosan Heavy Industries has a lot of experience in manufacturing unique components. By using this technology, DHI can have the upper hand in winning bids for future power and water desalination projects.
Message for applicants : Doosan DHI put me to work on valuable projects from day one. The value and expectation placed on me gave me motivation to learn fast and get involved. I appreciate the opportunity Doosan has given me to do work that is valuable to the project despite being new to the industry. If you are the kind of person who likes to get involved and are willing to learn fast, you will be happy here.
